Crazy Annie Coulter: As batshit as she wants to be

So how lit was she?

Ann Coulter, however, says social conservatives are not to the right of the rest of the GOP.

“There is no division. This is a pro-life party,” the conservative author and television personality says.

“If Giuliani wants to have a national ambition, and I’m a big fan of his, he’s going to have to become pro-life if he wants to run for president. No one ever believed he was pro-choice anyway - he’s a Catholic from Queens," she says, adding, “Americans understand that Manhattan is the Soviet Union.”

In a purple dress and black high heels, Coulter was willing to break ranks with the president on some issues.

“I don’t like the amnesty for illegal [aliens]... the largest entitlement program in 50 years is the prescription drug program… campaign finance reform,” she says. “But what are you going to do,” she says, throwing up her arms, “vote for the Treason Party?”

President Bush “is not our ideal,” she says, but adds that “no human can be the ideal unless he’s Jesus Christ.” And, for Coulter, “Reagan was as close to Jesus Christ as we got.”

She then autographs a pamphlet and explains that this Republican Party is the party of Reagan and Bush, not Schwarzenegger. “We are going to be banning gay marriage before we allow foreigners to be president.”

I've seen this before.

Some in 1980, a lot more in 1984. The GOP is going to fracture. Even in the unlikely event that Bush wins, this cannot last. These people think their 20 percent is the only percent that counts. Coulter has NO idea of what would happen to the Governator or Giuliani if they switched up on abortion. These aren't politically expedient positions, they would have zero chance at elective office if they were pro-life in New York or California.

The have no idea of exactly how unpopular their ideas are. They think everyone agrees with them, which is scary and wrongheaded.

Calling the Dems the treason party, even as a drunken joke, is so stupid as to begger belief. The GOP is about to be eclisped as a national party. The fissions between the moderates, the fiscal conservatives and the hard right are going to explode. Bill Clinton united the party because he was a social liberal and a fiscal moderate. Bush is a hard right guy and he's going to lose behind that. And to compare Manhattan to the Soviet Union, when 3,000 New Yorkers died on 9/11 and thousands more are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, is so offensively stupid as to be pleasing to the eyes.

But it's nice to see Coulter say this stupid shit for attribution. Crazy Annie will be choking on her words soon enough.
